The problem occurs (as far as I have recognized) only with fonts.
Detected locations:

1.) Thunderbird 0.6 message list coloring (labels) and links.
2.) sometimes the licq buddy list
3.) nautilus in icon view mode: file size color

For example, thunderbird paints messages having a green label with a
blue color in the message folder list. Covering them with another window
and removing it again, it depends on the speed of the window removal how
the message list entries are being repainted: either blue or green.

Links in the message body view pane are displayed in a _green_ color
with blue underlines. Again, moving a window over it, has the same
effect described as before. The same applies to nautilus' file size labels.

I'm running RedHat 9 without updates under VMware 4.5.1 Workstation on
WinXP. VMware tools are installed.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Regards,
Mark

For all who may care: VMware delivers three vmware_drv.o modules.
Unfortunately, the vmware configuration script installs the one for
XFree86 4.3.x (well, 4.3.0 _is_ installed), but only the vmware module
for version 4.x works correctly...

Great work. :-(
